The second-generation smart tachographs for trucks


European Union regulations require all trucks used for international transport to upgrade to second-generation smart tachographs. This transition will take place in several phases. The new tachograph legislation is part of the EU's mobility package, which aims to protect truck drivers' working hours and rest periods. 

Tachographs are devices that record various data such as driving time, rest periods or vehicle speed. This information is important for both road safety and compliance with legislation regarding drivers' working hours.  

The new second-generation smart tachographs offer a whole range of benefits, including: 
 
  • More accurate tracking of drivers' working hours and vehicle location 
  • Automatic border crossing registration 
  • Long-distance communication with the authorities without having to stop the vehicle 
  • Data sharing with carriers 

Our fleet of 27 trucks is equipped with tachographs of various categories and is currently undergoing modernisation. All our trucks will be compliant with the new EU regulations by the end of 2025.
