After several years of negotiations, the European Parliament has approved the Road Package, which will enter into force as from 1.1.2022.
These are relatively significant changes in EU legislation that will definitely affect the road transportation market.

The new road package will cover:

„The real outcomes of this “Road Package” are only to be realized later. It is really difficult to judge the individual impacts on the market right now. The only thing that is currently being clear is that e.g. all CZ transport companies  will have it much easier in regards to  managing and processing the salaries of the international drivers (due to the cancellation of all individual national regulations as Milog, Macron, etc.). However, it is to be expected that the transport companies (mainly from east Europe, Ukraine, Belorussia etc.), which drivers are sent to EU for 2 months and longer will have to modify their business model  and in some way solve the issue of the repatriation of these drivers but mainly the trucks to the country of their registration in much shorter intervals. This will definitely have its effect on the transportation capacity and availability in EU and may in the longer term also effect the relevant transport prices.“
